Over the past few days I’ve been really wanting to talk about a few things that have been burning me up inside and since I’m a big fan of talk show host Jim Rome, my favorite half hour of television, I figured I’d take a page out of his book and discuss what I’m burning on here at AP. But then I decided that maybe I should be somewhat more original with my presentation and since I’m also a fan of the Fantastic Four, particularly Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, I came up with the perfect combination…this is what I’m flaming on:
The other day I read an article on Page 2 of espn.com by a Jemele Hill that begins “Kobe Bryant is better than Michael Jordan.” C’mon Jemele. I was kind of tipsy when I read it and copied and pasted the article into Word and spent the next half hour composing a furious rant that, when reading now, still makes better sense than your article. But I won’t subject you to it (though I hope many people sent you mean-spirited emails). Instead I will just provide a few samples:
